14-day right of withdrawal

Under the Danish Consumer Contracts Act (Forbrugeraftaleloven §18) you may cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving the items, for any reason. The deadline starts the day you (or someone you designate) physically takes possession of the goods.

Modestly ships worldwide, but this 14-day right of withdrawal is an EU-specific consumer right. If your order ships to a destination outside the EU, please check your local consumer law, as your statutory rights may differ.

How to start a return

1. Sign in and open the order under Account > Orders.
2. Click “Request return” on the order and choose the items and reason. You can also email us at support@modestly.eu.
3. We will send return instructions, including the brand’s return address.
4. Pack and ship the items back within 14 days of your withdrawal notice.

Condition of returned goods

• Items must be unworn, unwashed, and with all original tags and packaging intact.
• You may handle the items as you would in a physical shop (try them on); excessive use may reduce your refund.
• We reserve the right to refuse returns that are damaged, soiled, or altered.

Refunds

• We refund the purchase price of the returned items to your original payment method.
• If your order included items from more than one brand, each brand refunds its own items separately — so you may see several refunds on your card, one per brand. This is normal and they may arrive on different days.
• Original outbound shipping is refunded only when you return your whole order; a partial return refunds the items only.
• Refunds are processed within 14 days of receiving the returned items, or sooner once we have inspected them.
• You pay the return shipping cost unless the item arrived faulty or incorrect.

Statutory complaint right (Reklamationsret)

Independently of the 14-day right above, you have a 2-year statutory right to complain about defects under Danish purchase law (Købeloven §83). If an item is faulty, contact us within a reasonable time after discovering the defect.

You may use the official EU/Danish standard withdrawal form. Send it to support@modestly.eu with your order number.

Sample: “To Modestly ApS, I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the sale of the following goods: [items], ordered on [date], received on [date]. Name: [name]. Address: [address]. Date and signature (if paper form): _________.”
